DWVC’s Tips on Holiday Travel and Vacation ClubDWVC’s Tips on Holiday Travel and Vacation

With our years or experience in the travel business, we have developed an essential travel and vacation guide which we are sure you will find useful to help you to get the most out of your holidays.

Everyone dreams of the perfect holiday, however, it’s often the case that, in reality, our experience does not live up to the vacation we had hoped for. That is why we wanted to pass on important tips that you may find helpful in acquiring accurate information about your possible destinations – as this can be the difference between having an OK trip or a fantastic holiday.

During your planning stage, think about other vacations that you’ve experienced and the things that you most enjoyed about them. If luxury and comfort are important to you, then you are unlikely to enjoy a “back to basics” trekking-style holiday. Understand what your basic requirements are, and build your holiday around these.

If you are traveling in a group, then take into account the tastes of the rest of the party. It’s not going to be an enjoyable trip if some members of the party are “out of their comfort zone”. Of course, the well known saying “You can’t please all of the people all of the time” is true, but a consensus of agreement at the start of a group trip will make for a more pleasant experience for everyone.

Traveling to a poor country does not necessarily mean that everything there will be cheap – premium goods imported into poorer countries are often more expensive than where they are readily available. Of course, if you “go where the locals go” you can often get great value for money and tremendously enhance your experience by savouring the real essence of the place you are visiting. However, security and feasibility of access will not always make this possible and therefore prior knowledge of the prices in your resort complex or accommodation will help you to budget accordingly.

A vital tool to consider during your vacation is the mode of transportation. Some people just “want to get there”, whilst others want to enjoy the journey. Some people like to experience every inch of their journey and see different places along the way. If time is not a primary factor, it is always worth investigating alternative routes to your destination as this may add tremendously to your overall holiday enjoyment. Traveling by train can be both comfortable and tremendously interesting as you may discover places that you had never dreamed existed! It is worthwhile, however, to check the ticket prices and accommodation prices along the way in advance of your trip

Regardless of the type of transport that you choose, there will inevitably be times when boredom sets in – especially for the younger traveler! So it’s a good idea to be prepared to keep your children busy with activities during the trip and keep them entertained without wearing yourself out. Bring, CD players, coloring books, hand-held game consoles, books that interests them or even iPods. This ensures that everybody will enjoy the entire trip without hearing “are we there yet?” too many times!
